The scenic Machame Route (known as the “Whiskey Route”) winds through lush rainforests, high moorlands, and dramatic alpine landscapes. Through the Continuing Education Scholarship Program, Nurturing Minds ensures that graduates of the SEGA Girls’ School have the opportunity to continue their education beyond secondary school. With your support, these bright, determined young women can pursue university degrees, university degrees, diplomas, and vocational training—empowering them to break cycles of poverty and become leaders, innovators, and changemakers in their communities.
Your trek is not just about reaching the summit—it is about opening doors for young women who dream of a brighter future. The funds raised through the Summit for SEGA will provide scholarships that cover tuition, housing, and essential costs, removing financial barriers and giving SEGA graduates the freedom to thrive.

We are inviting you to be part of a passionate team of trekkers committed to raising a minimum of $5,000 each to support Nurturing Minds and SEGA’s Continuing Education Scholarship Program. Together, our goal is to raise $100,000—opening doors for SEGA graduates to pursue higher education through university degrees, vocational training, and leadership pathways.
This is more than just a physical summit—it is a journey with purpose. Every step you take helps break cycles of poverty, empower young women with opportunity, and build a generation of confident, educated leaders in Tanzania.
SEGA is a Tanzanian-led organization and partner of Nurturing Minds. Your efforts will help provide scholarships for SEGA Girls’ School graduates to attend some of the top universities and training programs in East Africa, giving them the tools to thrive and lead in their communities.

🎓 Visit to SEGA Girls’ School Land Costs: $550
*Includes: Included in all land costs are 3 night stay at the SEGA Visitor House, accommodation at Serena Hotel in Dar es Salaam, 3 meals a day, tips and gratuities for non-SEGA staff, tips and gratuities for SEGA Visitor House personnel, all off-campus tours and activities fees, train tickets, and all round-trip transportations including drivers tips.
*Excludes: International flights, insurance: all types, Country entry visa, items of a personal nature (alcoholic drinks, cold drinks, souvenirs, laundry), all and any kind of vaccinations, documents, and/or any medical treatments.

*Includes: Trained Kilimanjaro guides (1: 2 ratio), 4 x 4 safari vehicles w/ water & drinks and professional driver guides, All relevant Park fees & rescue fees, Emergency medical evacuation to a local facility, Supplemental oxygen & pulse oximeters, All accommodation and meals as described in the itinerary, Transfers as described in the itinerary, Drinks on the hike (potable water, tea, coffee & hot chocolate), Pre and Post Accommodation and Airport Transfers

To top it off, Tusker’s mountain chefs, trained at the Culinary Institute of America, provide gourmet meals on the trail, making your climb not only safe and successful, but also surprisingly delicious.
