Poultry Farming - Our first self-sustainable business

The poultry farm is the Sega Girls School's first school-run
business that will start to provide self-sustainability. We are building coops for 3,000 chickens and aim to be up and running in Spring 2012. Grants for the poultry farming have been generously given by Dining for Women ($25,000)
and the American Embassy in Tanzania ($25,000), but we still need $50,000. $30 will provide all that's needed for the housing and care for 1 chicken!

Rainwater
Capture System The Sega Girls School aims to be fully self-sufficient for all its water requirements The estimated
expense for potable water for the Sega School in 2012 is $450-$500 a month. As the school begins to develop small businesses, such
as the poultry farm, it will be essential for the school to have it's own water supply. The first step to a self-sufficient
water supply will be the installation of rainwater capture equipment on all of the newly constructed buildings -
at a cost of $40,956
